Dry Needling

Dry Needling Head.jpeg

Dry needling is a technique Dr. Johnson can use for the treatment of pain and movement impairments.  Dry Needling involves a thin needle that penetrates the skin and stimulates underlying myofascial trigger points and muscular and connective tissues. The needles are typically smaller than hypodermic needles and are solid rather than hollow with a more rounded tip. The needle allows Dr. Johnson to target tissues that are not manually palpable. Benefits of Dry Needling are decreased muscle tightness, increased blood flow to the effected area, increased range of motion and reduced pain.

Dry needling has successfully been used to treat a variety of conditions including:

  •  Head and Neck Pain

  •  Shoulder Pain

  •  Elbow Pain

  •  Hand and Wrist Pain

  •  Back and Hip Pain

  •  Knee Pain

  •  Shin / Ankle / Foot Pain

  •  Plantar Fasciitis (Heel Pain)

  •  Acute and Chronic Tendonitis

  •  Athletic and Sports-related Overuse Injuries

  •  Post-surgical Pain

  •  Post-traumatic Injuries, Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA), and Work-related Injuries
